Burlesque ..

.. is theatrical entertainment of broad and parodic humor, which usually consists of comic skits (and sometimes a strip tease). With its origins in nineteenth century music hall entertainments and vaudeville in the early twentieth century burlesque emerged as a populist blend of satire, performance art and adult entertainment, that featured strip tease and broad comedy acts that derived their name from the low comedy aspects of the literary genre known as burlesque.
